The LEHA boundary is itself based on a combination of two geographic areas - the catchment of the River Loddon and the historic former royal hunting forest, the Forest of Eversley - hence the name Loddon and Eversley. These form the core of the project area, which also includes the small rural towns of Tadley, Hook, Odiham and Yateley, and the villages of Hartley Wintney, Sherfield on Loddon and Upton Grey amongst others. The market towns are important for the success of the LEADER project as they contain the main populations of consumers as well as retail outlets, giving the project access to markets for local produce. |
